Collaboration to Support Educational Research

The University of Ioannina and the Ministry of Education join forces to utilize and analyze data from international educational research, with a focus on the PISA assessment.

Within the framework of a Program Agreement, the University of Ioannina, through its Laboratory of Didactics & School Pedagogy, implements applied research activities, knowledge transfer, development, and support for research infrastructures of international educational studies. It conducts specialized (quantitative and qualitative) analyses of the data from these studies and carries out information and communication actions, particularly within the framework of the International PISA Assessment (Programme for International Student Assessment).

Holistic Approach to the PISA Assessment Utilization

From data analysis to educational material production and school unit support.

Scientific Documentation

The research team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, implements a series of actions including response coding, secondary analyses, and the writing of thematic reports based on PISA assessment data. Concurrently, research infrastructures and digital tools are being designed for data management, interoperability, and visualization.

Educational Support

Thematic banks of PISA-like items, open educational resources, and an interactive simulation environment are being developed to help students practice the three core literacies. Additionally, targeted support materials for educators are being created, including guides for enhancing skills in reading comprehension, mathematics, and science.
